I don't know about you but we tend to have very busy days, some days are more busier than others of course. As parents of a busy toddler, a ten year old, all while managing our business, it can become overwhelming at times.

But, family is everything to us and despite the daily obligations, we try to make sure we assess the temperature of the house too! Checking in with each other is so important and really shows how much you care.

We have created a Check-in system, we call "Family Meter" to help with that. Follow these simple steps to create your very own Family Meter Board:

1. Get a white board, colored stickers (red, green and yellow or whatever colors you prefer) and a black marker.

2. Write out the days of the week Sun-Sat on the board (this will be for each family member).
3.  Now, the stickers represent how they feel at the end of the day.
           Green: No issues, "I'm good"
           Yellow: Minor issues, "nothing major"
Red: Major issues, "I'm not okay"

Last but certainly not least, at the end of the week (if it's nothing urgent) each family member will express why they chose a certain color for each day and how we as a family can help each other improve or maintain during the week.

So, now that you have an understanding of what the Family Check-in system entails, now you and your family can try it out and see how it works out for you! Let us know down below!

As parents ourselves, we completely understand what  you must be feeling right now. Anxiousness, feeling a bit overwhelmed etc… That’s why we have  generated an easy back to school checklist to help you and your children be properly prepared for  their first day of school.

1. Make sure the school has confirmed all documents has been received (for transferred   students)
2. Purchase school supplies (you can by bulk now and get the rest later i.e. Walmart,  Sam's club)
3. Create bed time routine
4. Have first day of school outfit picked out
5. Create lunch ideas the night prior if student will be bringing lunch
6. Talk about making new friends
7. Set alarms ⏰
8. Confirm medications have been signed by Primary Care physician and school nurse has  record of it
9. Make sure your car is cleaned, gassed up & you have your student parking pass (High  school)
10. Pray over your children for a safe and successful school year

This week’s takeaway:  Remember, you are doing great and your children know that you are. Do the possible and allow  God to do the impossible.
